EZ Seat and Shelf Installation Instructions
The EZ Seat is a strong, durable, and easy-to-install tile shower seat. This corner bench installs in as little as 10 minutes and is ideal for both professional installers and DIY homeowners. Its simple design allows for fast installation and a clean finished look.
New Installation
Step 1: Prepare the Area
Measure and mark the desired seat height. A standard comfortable height is 18 inches. Install wall tile up to this height, cutting tiles as needed.
Step 2: Install the Seat Base
Apply a generous bead of waterproof urethane adhesive along the top edge of the tile where the seat will sit. Make sure the surface is clean and free of dust or debris. Set the EZ Seat in place and remove any excess adhesive.
Step 3: Tile the Seat
Lightly scuff the top surface of the EZ Seat with sandpaper to improve bonding. Apply waterproof urethane adhesive to the top of the seat and install tile. Cut tile as needed and allow a 1-inch overhang to conceal the metal support. Finish with a colored caulk that matches your grout.
Retro-Fit Installation
Step 1: Prepare the Area
Measure and mark the desired seat height. From the corner, mark two level lines at 16 1/2 inches. Cut the tile along these lines using an angle grinder with a diamond blade.
Step 2: Install the Seat Base
Apply a generous bead of waterproof urethane adhesive along the cut tile edges. Ensure all gaps are filled, especially where the waterproof barrier may be compromised. Set the EZ Seat in place and clean off any excess adhesive.
Step 3: Tile the Seat
Scuff the top surface with sandpaper. Apply waterproof urethane adhesive and install tile. Cut tile as needed and leave a 1-inch overhang to hide the metal support. Finish with matching grout-colored caulk.
