ProPanel achieved residential and light commercial ratings in the demanding Robinson Floor Test, making it an ideal lightweight alternative to traditional cement backer boards.
ProPanel™ Foam Based Backer Board is lightweight yet heavy-duty.
Manufactured using high-density expanded polystyrene reinforced on both sides with alkaline-resistant fiberglass mesh and waterproof cement coating, ProPanel provides a durable, waterproof, and mold-resistant substrate for tile installations.

Waterproof Protection Built In
Unlike traditional cement boards, ProPanel is completely waterproof and does not require a liquid waterproofing membrane over the entire surface. Only seams and fastener penetrations require waterproof treatment using approved polyurethane sealant or liquid waterproofing membrane.
ProPanel has successfully passed:
- ANSI A118.10 Section 4.5 waterproof testing
- ASTM D-4068 Annex A2 hydrostatic pressure testing
- ASTM G-21 & G-22 resistance to fungi and bacteria testing
