Support Requirements

If the bench is expanded beyond 19" or installed with an open-ended configuration, additional support is required using either the BT-17S support bracket or Invisabolt support system.

• Wall-to-wall installations up to 36" typically require no additional support
• Wall-to-wall installations up to 63" require one centered BT-17S or two Invisabolt supports
• Open-end installations may require BT-17S or Invisabolt supports depending on span
• Free-floating installations require multiple Invisabolt supports with structural blocking

Installation Notes

The adjustable shower bench can be cut down smaller than 19" if needed. Simply separate the two bench sections, trim evenly using a metal cutting blade, then reassemble to the desired size.

Fill the bench using dry pack mortar or deck mud before tiling.

Important: Do not use thin-set mortar to fill the bench. A dry pack mortar mix using approximately 4 parts sand to 1 part cement is recommended.

Foam board installations require minimum 2x4 wood backing at all connecting locations. Invisabolt installations require minimum 4x6 structural wood blocking installed flush with the studs before wall substrate installation.

Waterproof Performance

The Better Bench system is designed to maintain waterproof integrity without additional waterproofing membranes. Proper sealing around fasteners and along the upper edge where the bench meets the wall is recommended during installation.
