WaterArmor® Liquid Waterproofing & Crack Isolation Membrane, Formerly SealGuard
WaterArmor® is a ready-to-use 100% acrylic liquid waterproofing and crack isolation membrane, formerly known as SealGuard. Designed for use beneath thin-set tile and stone, WaterArmor provides a continuous waterproof layer for approved horizontal and vertical surfaces in residential and commercial applications.
WaterArmor meets the requirements of ANSI A118.10 and can be applied by brush, roller or trowel. When properly reinforced with fiberglass mesh tape, it can help isolate cracks and substrate changes up to 1/8 inch. The membrane bonds directly to clean metal, PVC and ABS drain assemblies.
Ideal for:
- Shower walls and bathroom waterproofing
- Bathroom floors and walls
- Residential and commercial tile installations
- Kitchen and other wet-area tile applications
- Concrete and cement backerboard
- Brick, masonry and mortar beds
- Approved interior and exterior applications

Coverage and Application
WaterArmor provides approximately 45 square feet per gallon, or approximately 225 square feet per 5-gallon pail, when applied at the specified 25 mil wet and 20 mil dry film thickness. Actual coverage varies depending on substrate roughness and porosity.
Apply WaterArmor to a clean, dry and properly prepared approved substrate using a brush, roller or trowel. Pre-treat corners, coves, edges, floor-to-wall transitions and cracks with WaterArmor and fiberglass mesh reinforcement where required by the manufacturer.
Drying Time
WaterArmor is dry to the touch in approximately 1 hour under standard conditions. Allow approximately 2 hours at 70°F and 50% relative humidity before applying a second coat or installing tile. Higher humidity and cooler conditions may extend drying time.
