Description

Warmup Foil Radiant Floor Heating System 130 Sq Ft (240V)

The Warmup Foil Radiant Floor Heating System 130 Sq Ft is an ultra-thin electric floor heating solution designed for installation beneath floating floor finishes, including laminate, engineered wood, luxury vinyl tile (LVT), and carpet. Ideal for larger rooms, open living spaces, basements, and extensive renovation projects, this 240V radiant heating system delivers consistent, energy-efficient warmth while maintaining a low floor profile.

Warmup's innovative Cut & Turn foil technology allows the heating mat to be installed around room layouts with ease while minimizing installation time. Installed between the insulation underlay and the finished floor, the system requires no cementitious adhesives and is intended for dry interior applications. The reinforced aluminum foil construction distributes heat evenly across the floor surface to help eliminate hot spots and maximize comfort.

Whether you're installing radiant heat beneath laminate, engineered wood, or floating LVT flooring, the Warmup Foil Heating System provides dependable performance, efficient heat transfer, and exceptional comfort throughout larger living areas.

Why Choose Warmup Foil Heating?

Unlike conventional heating systems that warm the surrounding air, radiant floor heating warms the floor surface directly to create comfortable, even heat throughout the room. The Warmup Foil system is specifically engineered for floating floor installations and combines advanced heating cable technology with reinforced aluminum foil for dependable long-term performance.

The heating cable is wrapped in advanced fluoropolymer insulation and enclosed within a continuous grounded aluminum foil layer that spreads heat evenly across the floor. The result is fast, consistent heat distribution while maintaining a low installation profile.

130 Sq Ft Heating Mat Specifications

  • Coverage: 130 sq ft
  • Operating Voltage: 240V
  • Mat Length: 79.3 ft
  • Mat Width: 1.64 ft (500 mm)
  • Power Output: 1,560 Watts
  • Current Draw: 6.5 Amps
  • Resistance: 37 Ω

Installation Overview

The Warmup Foil Heating System installs directly over the insulation underlay and beneath the finished floating floor. Because the heating mat is only 1/8 inch thick, it integrates easily into renovation and new construction projects without noticeably raising the finished floor.

  • Designed for dry interior installations
  • No mortar or self-leveling compounds required
  • Compatible with breathable underlays
  • Ideal beneath floating floor systems
  • Suitable for residential heating applications

Compatible Floor Coverings

The Warmup Foil Heating System is designed for use beneath a wide variety of floating floor finishes while delivering efficient radiant warmth.

  • Laminate flooring
  • Engineered wood flooring
  • Floating luxury vinyl tile (many LVT products)
  • Carpet installed with a suitable underlay

Carpet Installation Guidelines

Radiant floor heating provides excellent comfort beneath carpet while reducing the air circulation associated with traditional forced-air heating systems. Proper carpet and underlay selection helps maximize heating performance.

  • Finished carpet thickness should be between 1/4 inch and 1 inch.
  • Use hessian-backed carpet whenever possible.
  • Select a low thermal resistance underlay.
  • Do not use felt underlay, as it may reduce heat transfer.
  • Carpet padding should have a minimum density of 6 lb per cubic foot.
  • The carpet R-value should not exceed 1.

Laminate Flooring Recommendations

The Warmup Foil Radiant Floor Heating System is specifically designed for laminate flooring and other floating floor finishes. Dense laminate flooring provides the best thermal conductivity, allowing heat to transfer efficiently from the heating system to the finished floor. Thinner, high-density flooring materials generally provide faster heat-up times and improved system responsiveness.

The heating element consists of a fiber-reinforced aluminum foil wrapped around a multi-strand dual-core heating cable insulated with advanced fluoropolymer (ETFE). The aluminum foil provides a continuous grounded layer while distributing heat evenly across the floor for consistent comfort.

  • Select dense laminate flooring for the best thermal conductivity.
  • Recommended laminate or engineered wood thickness should not exceed 18 mm.
  • Wider flooring boards may experience more natural movement than narrower boards.
  • The recommended thickness-to-width ratio is approximately 7 to 11.
  • Floor surface temperatures should not exceed 27°C (80.6°F).
  • Always use a compatible floor heating thermostat to regulate floor temperature.

Installation Notes for Laminate Floors

Proper installation helps ensure efficient operation and long-term reliability. The Warmup Foil Heating System is installed over the insulation underlay and beneath the finished floating floor without requiring mortar or cement-based adhesives.

  • Use a breathable underlay between 3 mm and 6 mm thick when required by the flooring manufacturer.
  • Ensure the combined flooring assembly remains within the recommended thermal resistance limits.
  • Everything above the heating system, including underlay and flooring, should meet the recommended heat transfer values.
  • Follow all manufacturer installation instructions and local electrical codes.

Heat Transfer Limits

  • Tog: 1.5 (unless otherwise specified)
  • RSI: 0.15 m² K/W (unless otherwise specified)
  • Maximum R-Value (US): 1.42
