The Lauxes Grates Custom Linear Shower Drain Slimline Tile Insert Plus is designed for shower installations and renovation projects where a deeper drain profile is needed. The 1 3/8" deep design provides additional installation flexibility while maintaining the clean, tile-insert appearance of a modern linear shower drain.

Made from anodized aluminum, the drain is lightweight, rustproof, and designed for both indoor and outdoor applications. The grate is UV stable and backed by a 25-year warranty against fading, along with a Lifetime Rust-Proof Warranty.

Square Shape: The square drain profile makes it easier to cut tile accurately compared with cutting, nipping, and grinding tile around a round drain opening.

Custom Linear Drain for Tile Insert Applications

The tile insert design allows the shower grate to be faced with the same tile installed on the shower floor. This creates a coordinated appearance that works especially well with contemporary bathrooms, walk-in showers, curbless shower designs, and custom shower renovations.

The waste outlet can be positioned anywhere along the bottom tray, providing greater flexibility when working with existing plumbing or planning a new shower installation. The ability to cut the drain onsite also makes it easier to achieve the desired finished length for custom shower layouts.

Carefully Designed

Lauxes Grates custom floor grates are manufactured from anodized aluminum to provide a robust, cost-effective, and versatile drainage solution. The combination of custom sizing, flexible waste outlet positioning, tile insert design, and easy cleaning makes this linear drain suitable for a wide range of residential and commercial applications.

CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS AND INSTALLATION

For cutting custom grates, Lauxes recommends using a compound miter saw fitted with a multi-material cutting blade of 80 teeth or more. A suitable TCT hole saw is recommended for drilling the waste outlet opening.

1. Cut the bottom tray 1/8" (3mm) shorter than the desired length to allow the end caps to be fitted.
2. Cut the top grate 1/32" (1mm) shorter than the bottom tray to allow easy roll-in of the top grate and provide a tidy fit.
3. Using a suitable hole saw for the waste outlet, drill the opening at the required position to align with the waste pipe in the floor.
4. Insert the end caps into the bottom tray and secure with a bead of silicone on the outside of the tray.
5. Place silicone around the lip of the waste outlet and secure it to the underside of the bottom tray at the drilled opening.

* During installation, use a template to ensure the grate does not come in contact with wet cement-based products.

** Regular, gentle cleaning with soapy water is recommended. Do not use abrasive cloths or acidic chemicals on the grates.

*** When gluing tile, use a neutral-cure silicone.

Product Care

After installation, remove dust, dirt, adhesive, silicone, and other deposits from the anodized surface using a dry or damp cloth. Regular cleaning with soapy water and a mild cloth or suitable nylon cleaning pad is recommended.

Do not use abrasive or harsh acidic chemicals on the grate. Construction materials such as mortar and other aggressive alkaline or acidic products should be removed as soon as possible and should not be allowed to dry on the anodized surface.

The easy roll-out grate design allows the top grate to be rolled back for easier access to the drainage area underneath, making routine cleaning and maintenance more convenient.

Warranty

Lauxes Grates products are carefully designed and manufactured to a high standard. The product is backed by a Lifetime Rust-Proof Warranty for the original purchaser, subject to the manufacturer's warranty requirements.

The manufacturer states that damage resulting from improper, insufficient, or negligent care, or installation that does not comply with applicable ANSI, UPC, waterproofing, plumbing, building code, or manufacturer requirements, may void the product warranty.

The warranty does not cover repairs required because of normal wear, misuse, accidental damage, or changes in temperature. Refer to the manufacturer's warranty terms for complete details.

Additional Product Information

Custom Grates products do not form part of the waterproofing system. Proper waterproofing must be completed as part of the overall shower assembly according to the waterproofing system manufacturer's instructions and applicable local requirements.
