Programmable Floor Heating Control
The SOLO allows users to create a programmable heating schedule based on their daily routine. The thermostat provides separate programming for different days of the week, allowing the floor heating system to automatically adjust the temperature according to the selected schedule.
The programmable schedule can be used to provide warmer floors during occupied periods and reduced heating during periods when the room is not being used. A temporary temperature adjustment can also be made without permanently changing the programmed schedule.
Multiple Temperature Control Modes
The SOLO provides several temperature control options. The thermostat can control the heating system using the floor temperature sensor, the built-in ambient air temperature sensor, or ambient temperature while using the floor sensor to limit the maximum floor temperature.
This flexibility allows the thermostat to be used with different types of electric floor heating installations and flooring materials.
Floor Temperature Control
When configured for floor temperature control, the SOLO uses the included external floor sensor to measure the temperature of the heated floor. The thermostat activates the heating system when the measured floor temperature is below the selected setpoint and stops heating when the desired temperature is reached.
The external sensor can also be used for floor temperature limiting when the thermostat is configured to control the ambient room temperature.
Floor Temperature Limits
The SOLO provides different maximum temperature settings depending on the selected floor type and temperature control method. For tile floors, the maximum floor temperature setting can reach 104°F (40°C).
For wood flooring, the maximum floor temperature is limited to 82°F (28°C). When using the thermostat with laminate or engineered wood flooring, the flooring manufacturer's maximum allowable temperature should always be followed.
When operating in ambient or ambient-plus-floor control, the maximum ambient setpoint is 86°F (30°C).
Automatic and Manual Operating Modes
The SOLO provides both Automatic and Manual operating modes. Automatic mode follows the programmed heating schedule, while Manual mode allows the desired temperature to be controlled directly.
The temporary bypass function allows the user to temporarily change the current temperature without permanently changing the programmed schedule.
Built-In Class A GFCI Protection
The SOLO includes Class A 5mA GFCI protection designed to help protect against electrical ground faults. A dedicated GFCI TEST button allows the protection circuit to be checked after installation.
The GFCI protection is designed to interrupt power to the heating system when a ground fault is detected. The GFCI should be tested according to the manufacturer's instructions and applicable electrical requirements.

Programming Features
The SOLO allows users to program the thermostat around their daily heating requirements. The thermostat provides programmable heating periods that can automatically adjust the temperature throughout the day.
Programming can be used to provide a comfortable floor temperature during occupied periods while reducing heating during periods when the space is unoccupied. The schedule can be overridden temporarily without permanently changing the programmed settings.
Temperature Display
The SOLO displays the current temperature and thermostat settings on its digital display. The temperature can be displayed in either °F or °C, and the clock can be configured for either 12-hour or 24-hour operation.
The display resolution is 1°F (0.5°C), allowing the temperature to be adjusted in precise increments.
Floor Sensor
The SOLO includes an external floor temperature sensor for monitoring the heated floor. The sensor can be used as the primary temperature control method or as a floor temperature limit when the thermostat is controlling ambient room temperature.
The floor sensor should be installed within the heated floor area according to the manufacturer's installation instructions. It should not be installed directly against or across the heating cable or heating wires.
Installation Information
The SOLO is designed for indoor installation with 120VAC or 240VAC electric floor heating systems. The correct electrical supply and heating load must be verified before installation.
The thermostat supports a maximum resistive load of 15A, equivalent to 1,800W at 120VAC or 3,600W at 240VAC.
The SOLO does not have a separate ground wire. The heating system is grounded through the ground connection from the heating apparatus on the load side.
The thermostat housing is not watertight and should not be installed where it can be exposed to water or rain.
Because this product connects directly to line voltage, installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable local electrical codes and requirements.
Recommended Applications
The SOLO is designed for indoor electric floor heating applications where programmable temperature control is desired. It can be used with electric radiant floor heating systems in residential spaces such as bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, and other areas with heated floors.
The thermostat can be configured for tile and other floor coverings requiring higher floor temperatures, as well as wood flooring where the floor temperature must be limited to 82°F (28°C).
Important Installation Information
Review the complete installation and operating instructions before installing or operating the thermostat. Verify the electrical supply, thermostat model, heating load, floor sensor, and desired temperature control method before installation.
The SOLO is rated for a maximum resistive load of 15A, with a maximum power rating of 1,800W at 120VAC or 3,600W at 240VAC.
Because the SOLO involves line-voltage electrical connections and built-in GFCI protection, installation and electrical testing should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable local electrical codes and requirements.
